Am I Wrong?

On the radio at work, just before I closed the shop, there was a news report warning women about the latest date rape tool - cigarettes soaked in embalming fluid. (Ew.)

At the end of the report, the detective being interviewed said something that made me so mad...

"Where there are women, there will be rape."

Am I wrong to be incensed by that?

Women aren't usually the ones committing the rapes, they're the victims, and yet this detective makes it sound like the blame is laid on the women for being there!

The sentence itself infuriated me. The fact that it was spouted by a female detective enraged me.

1. I'm with you; detective is beyond dumbass. Hello, there's many a male in the world that has a rape story he could tell.

2. I went to school with this girl that used to soak her pot in embalming fluid. She neglected to tell us this while we were smoking it. (bitch) Honestly, I don't see how it would be a date rape drug. It's gross, you feel gross and kinda... overheated (like actually overly warm in the head) but not necessarily out of it. Weird. And gross, did I mention the gross? 'Cause yeah, gross.
