First Meeting

They're eleven when they meet, and diametrically opposed - one a pureblood, born of wizarding aristocracy, and the other an inhumanly lucky mutt, one short generation away from Muggle-born.

They don't know each other, but certain assumptions are easy to make. There's only one reason to be in this shop, in this alley, balancing nervously on these stools - they'll be going to school together.

If there are sparks, they're not the romantic kind. Draco doesn't bother to look at him after that first incurious glance, and Harry isn't well pleased by the superior tone of his newly met classmate.

Things change.
