Red
Before, it was just red. Sticky and icky and kind of important to keep on the inside, but basically red. Now, through altered eyes and heightened senses it was so much more. Vivid, in a multitude of shades and hues and textures. Vibrant, more enticing now than chocolate - most of the time. And the taste - the taste was out of this world. Like HoHos and Twinkies and Cadbury's Chocolate and steak all rolled into one, which sounded gross when you actually put it like that, but, still, it was how he felt.
Xander licked his lips in anticipation. He was hungry.
Yellow
Xander sometimes missed the strangest things now he'd been vamped. Right now, for instance, he missed the colour yellow on his skin.
It was strange to see his bruises fading swiftly into nothing, after years of wearing multicoloured banners beneath his clothes. He'd learned to tell the ages of his various contusions by the rainbow patterns ringed with fading gold. He'd used them like a calendar - three days since Dad had... Well. And now he watched them disappear in minutes.
He knew Spike didn't understand his little obsessions, but he never failed to help out where he could.
"Again, Pet?"
Pink
Seven of Nine extended her tiny, rough, pink tongue, and gently lapped up scattered drops of fallen vampire blood. She managed three or four before Spike noticed.
"Oi! Don't think I'm putting up with that, you little rat. Feed your taste for demon with my childe, he thinks it's cute."
Spike dropped the ruffled Siamese off the edge of the bed and rolled over to see that Xander was awake, trying not to laugh.
"You plotting with that beast behind my back, are you love? You claw me till I bleed then she drinks up?"
"You're family. She's cleaning you."
Green
Crystal clear, even at its deepest points, the pool was swirled with verdant bottle greens and emerald hues. The surface layers retained the heat from the glorious summer sun, even now, two hours since it had set.
The couple dived deep, and came up gasping for unnecessary air.
"The sun's been out all day, Xan. Of course it's nice and warm!" Xander's sarcastic tone echoed off the rocks and bounced around. "If my balls drop off from frostbite it's your fault!"
With a graceful crawl, Spike propelled himself to Xander's side.
"I'll just go and thaw the buggers out then..."
Purple
A complicated structure of leather and chains came first, looped around his weeping cock and balls. Buckled into place it kept the precious morsels of flesh completely isolated, each standing proud. Next, the constant teasing - gentle touches first then rough. Pulling, squeezing, twisting, clawing nails. Again and then again he pushed himself right to the edge but never once considered slipping over.
When Spike had left he'd asked for just one thing on his return - Xander waiting, hard and wet, and purple. He'd known his childe would rise to meet the challenge, however hard. He anticipated reaping the rewards.
Orange
"Oh, Spike that's gross!"
With one swift jerk, Xander snapped his struggling meal's neck, and wandered over to where his Sire leant against the wall. He used his steel-toed boot to nudge the partially flayed body a few more precious inches further away.
"It's... ugh! That's not natural, is it? I mean, that's not what colour mine would be if I ever..."
"'S body fat, Xan, that's all. Every human being on the planet's got a bit. Peel the skin off, like I did - by accident, mind you - and you'll find that stuff lying underneath."
"But it's orange!"
Blue
Steel grey eyes meant he was in trouble. Not 'naughty touching, get the toys out' trouble, but the real deal. It didn't happen often but he knew when he'd screwed up. Just seeing that shade of grey made him shiver.
The darkest, richest navy, like midnight skies with starry flecks of gold, only ever appeared as Spike came. Sometimes Xander felt that he could drown in eyes that deep.
But Xander loved it best when eyes of clearest azure blue lit upon him just as Spike awoke. For that single shining moment they held nothing but pure love. For him.

I wondered that myself the first time she sunk her claws and fangs into Xander's finger when he was teasing her in her very first drabble. *g* We shall have to see. She could live for a long time, be extra clever and quick at catching mice. But she'll never become a vampire cat cos that would just be wrong. :P

Xander would want to if she ever got that close to death, but I don't think Spike would let him. he was with Dru for over a hundred years - he knows all about freaky shit like that. *g*

on 2005-03-20 01:31 am (UTC)I love the creepiness of them too. It's so much fun to be able to add those tiny touches of creepiness and sociopathy to them both that just wouldn't work if there were souls in there.
And I couldn't resist the orange drabble. There was a TV series on last month called 'Anatomy for Beginners' with the German (?) guy who plastinates donated bodies and then cuts them open to educate the public on the reality of their insides. he did several different autopsies on the show and I could never get over how damn orange the body fat was!
I also got to actually see a prostate. o.O

Those are just awesome!
I love them all but Red, Blue, and Yellow are my favs.
Incidentally they are also the primary colors in pigment. But I'm a total color freak! (Lighting Technician by day.)
This was such a treat! Color is soooo much more important than people think, it effects moods and feelings. I wrote a fic that played in the venue. This was so cool! I adored it all!
