It's the stickiest, sloppiest open-mouthed slobber of a kiss that Rodney has ever had occasion to receive.

It's the most amazing kiss of his life.

"Did you see that? Did you?"

His eyes are practically alight, his cheeks pink with pride. He's visibly vibrating on the spot.

"She kissed me!"

"Yup." John reached out and took his daughter - their daughter - from Rodney's arms, lifting her up to plant his own gentle kiss on her tiny nose.

"She loves her papa, don't you, princess?"

Mara Grace (named for John's mother and Rodney's grandmother) gnawed messily on one small fist, her other hand pressed starfish wide on her daddy's cheek.

"And once you're old enough to realise that one kiss from you turns his huge brain into putty, you're going to run us both ragged until we're old and grey. And we wouldn't have it any other way."
