The demon's skin was toxic to human and vampire both, so gauntlets were issued by a fretful Giles to each and every Scooby - except Spike. He sneered at what was offered and said he'd meet them later at the nest. Apparently he had his own protection tucked away beneath the crumbling crypt he occasionally called home.
The gauntlets Giles had given them were thick, unwieldy fabric, held in place by threadbare strips of fuzzy Velcro.
They're probably asbestos-lined and lethal, Xander thought unfairly, trying to curl his fingers round the handle of his axe. His life was like that.

Spike's gauntlets, it appeared, were highly polished leather, creased and scarred and obviously cared for. Tales of battles won and lost were hidden in every fold and wrinkle, decades etched in acid burns and razor thin slices. They looked lived in.
A line of highly polished chrome buckles marched from wrist to elbow, equally as useless and as pretty as a peacock's tail. And just as eye-catching, for some.
A resounding slap echoed across the glade as Spike brought his hands together and bounced maniacally on heavy-booted toes.
"What the bloody hell are we waiting for, a sign from God?"

Spike's leather gauntlets made Xander think of sex - smooth and sleek with just a hint of drag and catch of roughened skin. He was confused.
The sound they made when Spike clapped his hands together made him jump. He blinked, and stared from underneath a fringe he didn't dare get cut, not while it afforded somewhere safe to hide from curious eyes. He really didn't need Willow asking what was wrong. He knew she'd drag it out of him somehow and that would make it real.
Words would make it real so Xander stuck with pictures. That didn't help.

Spike removing the gauntlets and checking them for wear and tear, smoothing the creases out and testing the seams of unseen damage, made Xander think of sex some more. Slow, careful slender hands apparently did it for him. Big time. Who knew?
His thoughts were filled with badwrongdirty sex. Kinky sex. Sex he'd never had or dreamed of having until now, until Spike, and his sexed-up gauntlets.
Xander wondered if it might be a spell, one that made him want to fuck the vampire he was learning, slowly, to call 'friend'. Well, maybe not yet 'friend', but 'enemy' no longer.

Xander was almost entirely unsurprised to open his door to find that Spike had followed him home after patrol. The presence of the gauntlets tossed casually over one shoulder, however, left him choking on his tongue. Spike grinned.
The leather made a satisfying sound each time it met his skin. It left a glowing handprint on his ass with every blow. Xander begged for more when Spike paused to stroke and tease. Spike paused often.
When Spike decided Xander's ass was warm enough he burrowed in, split him open wide, thrusting fast, so hard it hurt. Xander begged for more.
