So, today literati went to see HP4 at the cinema and came back raving about it - and also one of the trailers.

Happy Feet.

There are penguins. Dancing, singing, hugging penguins. Those of you who have read certain fic(s) in the SGA fandom will understand why the first place I ran to share the penguin love was mckay_sheppard.

But - penguins! The love must be shared. Go. Watch. Aaaaaaaaaaaaw at the cuteness (and possible gayness) of the penguins.

I saw that trailer when I went to GoF, and I have to ask:

does that movie have a point? At all?

(Incidentally, darklingsdream is of the firm opinion that every single penguin is voiced by Robin Williams. I'm undecided. What d'you think?)

Having seen nothing but that tiny online teaser, I have no idea, but I'm sure they have some tale to tell... maybe. *g*

And I'd say Robin Williams definitely voices several of them but I don't think he does them all. I kinda hope he didn't - I love playing 'whose voice is that' with animations. Odd, yes, but true. *g*

I am very happy to say that I haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite. I read the back of the DVD when it came into the store and decided that that was as much as I wanted to know about the movie.

Maybe the whole point of the movie is 'Hey! Penguins! Singing! Dancing! Hugging!' - there have been movies based on less. *g*

Oh I saw that trailer too! Very cute, they must get up to all that singing and dancing and hugging when they think no one's looking, when you think about it, it's the perfect way to keep warm, why hasn't David Attenborough filmed that?

Why do I have the suspicion that that movie will garner ten times the box office receipts of Serenity even though it is probably totally pointless and most likely annoying after about five minutes?

Because it is singing, dancing penguins and it's being targeted to the 'aaaaaaaaaw cute!' brigade, which is, sadly, whole magnitudes larger than the entire cadre of browncoats. Such is life. *heavy sigh*
