Searching for the perfect host...

As some of you have probably noticed, the headers for both my personal journal and [livejournal.com profile] bloodclaim, have been missing in action for the last couple of weeks. This is because the webhost responsible for www.slashverse.com has disappeared up its own arsehole. [livejournal.com profile] literati and I, as co-owners of the name, have no idea what has happened, but are now looking for a new adult-friendly host to bless with our pennies.

To that end we are asking for recommendations. Does your webhost allow adult content? Does it disappear for days on end with no explanation? Is the control panel easy to navigate? Let us know about the good ones and the bad ones so we don't end up doing the frying-pan/fire thing.

Please please help us find a new host before our heads explode from frustration. My right temple is already throbbing angrily...

Dreamhost (http://www.dreamhost.com/rewards.cgi?claudia6913). They've been WONDERFUL to me. Not a moment of downtime so far, and I've been with them for about 6 months now. They are truly wonderful. Adult content is allowed, not one of my sites have ever spontaneously disappeared or anything.

I do wish you luck on getting slashverse back up and running!

thank you! the coincidence here is mind-boggling. [livejournal.com profile] literati just sent me along to look at a graphic someone on her flist made, and, as we're host-searching, I decided to take a quick look at the artist's host.

I was just on their TOS page when you posted this - recommending them! I've never heard of them before. What are the odds? *g*

I really like the pre-provided LJ scrapbook stuff. It's pretty easy to use, and out of the almos 6 months I've used it I've only had one problem, and it was fixed within 24 hours.

You should look into it. You can even customize folders and categories. All my artwork is in my LJ scrapbook. :)

I have to reccommend Synful Designs... owned by Trixx (nefraz2)... so far, no problems ;)

I've got Xander Xtreme hosted by her.

Also, she's a great person to deal with... bloody little chatterbox to tell the truth :D
