At the Beach

Rodney and the cooler were tucked beneath what was possibly the largest beach umbrella known to man. He was stretched out on a triple layer of blanket and beach towel - "This isn't sand! Why have you brought me to a gravel beach, you suicidal surf freak?!"

Fresh from the ocean, dripping wet and panting from the sheer thrill of flying over the water without wings, John stood at the foot of Rodney's shaded little fiefdom and watched him nap.

If he wanted to, he could lie down shoulder-to-shoulder, hip-to-hip with Rodney. He could even hold his hand.

He did.
