"Look, Peaches, we all know that there's no way in hell you're ever going to experience a moment of true happiness after everything that's happened, so where's the harm? It's not like you've never had me before, many times. Every which way. What I'm suggesting is just... something extra. New toys to play with, yeah? You can't tell me you're not interested. You think I didn't notice you watching from behind that brood? And I know damn well that Angelus was full of plans for when he got his hands on..."

Spike sighed, and held out a hand to Xander, who looked suddenly panicked.

"C'mon, Pet. You swore you were okay with this. You were the one that brought it up, remember? All those questions and hints and 'what ifs'?"

Fingers intertwined, Spike released a breath he'd swear he'd never been holding.

"It's just... Damn it, Spike! You never told me that Angel was... that Angelus had..." He growled. "You never said!"

Angel's mind reeled and Angelus rattled the bars of his cage. He had watched. He had planned. In another life. In another world. And now, suddenly, it was being offered. Freely. Two for the price of one... Heaven.
