Too Close For Comfort
Buffy almost caught them, three months after Xander's turning, nearly sending Spike into a tailspin. Terrified, he bundled Xander into the car, joints bumped and bent at awkward angles in the frenzy.
"Too young, too new for this you are, can't have her finding you. She'd dust you in an instant if she could and I'm not having that. I'll skin the bitch before she lays a hand on you, I swear."
The muttered curses, rambling threats and whispered reassurances fluttered in their wake across three states to West Virginia. Only then did Spike let Xander out of his sight.
Road Trip Radio Roulette
Xander fiddled with the car radio until he found something he recognised.
"…getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga
If you have half a brain
If you'd like making love at midnight
In the dunes on the Cape
Then I'm the love that you've looked…"
"Xander, if you don't turn that radio off, right now, I'll rip your sodding tongue out by the roots! And if I so much as think I hear you calling me your lady…"
The muffled snicker was enough to make Spike realise he'd misplayed his hand.
"You know the Pina Colada Song!"
Father Knows Best
Angelus had amassed a strange collection of old scrolls and inked skins, all, supposedly, about 'The Daywalker'. He pieced together fragments of them all to make a greater whole, a patchwork prophecy about The One Who Couldn't Die, then sent it out as fact and fed the rumours.
Connor shied away from the attention and Angelus let him, he didn't want his childe to steal his glory. But short of going out - Angelus wouldn't stand for that - Connor's only real escape was in the room upstairs.
Of course, the trio didn’t spend all their time in bed - Xander had an Xbox.
