Title: Family Trust
Pairing: Spike/Xander, Connor, Dru
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Not mine, never will be. No harm, no foul, no money made.
Notes: The past, present and future adventures of baby!vamp!Xander and his family.
Promises Kept
Xander, curled in a ball around one of Spike's shirts, rocked, whimpered and babbled to keep the terrors at bay.
"He's going to come back, he is, he will. He won't leave us alone. 'Going off to do a bit of business before we leave this dump'. He said, he's coming back. We're not gonna be alone. Don't panic, don't freak, don't make a fuss. Don't make him angry, make him leave, won't leave."
Spike heard the mumbling as soon as he opened the door, and cursed the fact that he'd had to leave his new childe alone so soon.
Waiting For The Cavalry
Crooked gravestones, wizened trees, grass that bit too long - the cemetery looked like it was stolen from a movie set. Xander bumbled his way between the tumbledown crypts, tripping over lumps of fallen masonry and tree roots. The noise he made was almost loud enough to wake the dead, but he was set on luring out the slayer pack in town.
Seven, maybe eight, untrained slayers had joined forces, feral instincts always to the fore when darkness fell. Spike had heard the rumours, formed a plan and called the family in, and Xander got to play the bait. Again.
Implicitly
Connor lay in Xander's lap, limp and frail and lifeless, and Xander didn't even try to resist the temptation to taste. He bent and licked the score marks left by Dru's sharp nails, shallow grooves of red across a narrow, muscled chest. The power that sang in even that tiny sample made him groan, and he lifted his head and caught Spike's curious gaze. He froze, and then blinked as Spike returned his attention to the road without even trying to warn him off from biting, deep and true.
Trust. Unasked for, though not unwanted. Trusted with Angelus' precious child.
