"Violence is going to ensue!"

With a manic grin and his latest rebel yell, stolen from a movie, Xander leaps over the battered table and into the pit of demons. Gleefully he rips off limbs to use as clubs, swinging and laughing and revelling in the joy of a good fight.

Spike sits back and watches his childe slaughter his way through the pack, keeping a tight hand on his latest bottle. Once a month the fighting starts, over a female Draag in heat, and every month Xander just can't resist the temptation to join in. The Draag are on their way to being endangered.



"I swallowed a bug"

Xander jumped off the motorcycle as soon as it slid to a halt, bending at the waist to cough and choke and dry heave. He waved away Spike's concerned questions as he hawked and rasped and wheezed, hands clamped hard to the battered knees of his jeans. Tiny black spots danced in his line of vision, ants marching in file between his dusty-toed boots.

Finally, a small black soggy lump landed on one toe, and Xander wiped a hand across his mouth in sweet relief.

"What the hell was that about, pet? Did you swallow your tongue?"

"I hate bugs."

Alas again, I have been right where Xander was sitting. I inhaled a bluebottle on the back of a motorbike many moons ago and did the exact same dance once the bike stopped. I know whereof I write! *g*
