Notes: Baby!vamp!Xander decides that independence is overrated.


Overrated

Xander decided that independence wasn't that great. He knew, and Spike knew, he was more than strong enough to make it on his own, if he wanted. He could feed, fight and fuck with the best of them. Hell, he'd even given Angelus a moment's pause while tussling to see who'd finish Buffy. Not that he believed he could have won that fight for real, and the bargain they'd struck had left him without Spike for two whole months. Hell on earth.

So yeah, he'd skip the independence bit, thank you kindly, and stick with being the beloved, pampered childe.

And Xander lost Spike for a while because Angelus wanted to relive his glory years with his little 'family', which meant Spike being William again for a while. It was a huge sacrifice, but it was worth it. ;)
