Kitten Love
"That's a blue pointed Siamese kitten, not a pet. It's my ante into the big game at the docks next Saturday. That little beauty's worth a fortune and it's gonna help us make our mark on this town."
Xander continued to alternate between gameface and giggles as he teased the tiny kitten sitting imperiously in his palm.
"Sure, Spike, but until Saturday I'm going to pretend that she's all mine. I never had a pet and she's so pretty and fluffy and... Ow!"
Tiny fangs and claws clung tenaciously to Xander's out-stretched, bloodied finger.
"I think she likes you, luv."
Hyena Games
The hyena loved to hunt, either alone or with 'the pack'. The fact that the rest of 'the pack' consisted of Spike didn't cause concern. Spike, Sire, Pack Leader, was worth a dozen lesser creatures. His agility and feline grace and raw animal cunning made him the perfect mate, the perfect demon. That he was always willing to share his kill was just a bonus.
Their prey turned down an alley that Xander knew was a dead end and the hyena let out a string of gleeful yips. Now the hunt was over it was time for them to play!
Puppy Eyes o' Doom
Spike told himself he'd known what he was getting into when he first took a lascivious interest in Xander.
His protective instincts were as strong as any demon for its spawn. Spike desired that.
The boy had amazing loyalty to the ones he loved. Spike craved that.
He was warm, and loving, and always eager to please, especially in bed. Turning him had only reduced his heat and increased his libido; the rest had remained the way it had always been.
Which was a bugger because it looked like he'd never develop a resistance to The Puppy Eyes o' Doom.
