Exactly!!! That's why I love them together... it's also why Spuffy makes me spit and hiss. She turned on him. She made fun of him knowing all his abandonment issues. Spangel gets me less spitty and hissy because while Angel abandoned Spike, he sure passed up many, MANY opportunities to humiliate/stake him.
